Many patients ask us whether their insurance will cover their hearing aids; the answer is a bit more complicated than yes or no.
Hearing aids can certainly be pricey, and this is often a huge stressor. At Hearing Associates, not only are we here to treat our patients’ different hearing needs, but we are also here to advocate for them.
We have taken great notice of the fact that communication with insurance companies is often done over the phone, which can be especially difficult for those experiencing a hearing loss or difficulties.
To address this, we have our own specially trained insurance benefits person available to help our patients check their coverage.
Your Insurance Package
The first and most important thing you need to know when figuring out if your insurance will cover hearing aids is to learn exactly what your insurance package is.
There are many different levels of coverage that each company offers, with some only covering hearing exams and others covering all the way up to the most advanced hearing aids on the market.
We suggest that the easiest way to figure this out if you don’t have all of your insurance information readily available is to give them a call. As stated earlier, though, if you find this difficult for any reason, we have an insurance benefits person on staff who is available to help you.
Working to Make Sure Cost is Kept Low
Now, the cost of hearing aids—whether they are covered by insurance or not—can end up being a big investment, and this is something all of our providers are well aware of.
Thus, we will work carefully with you to help decide which hearing aid features are necessary, which would be nice to have but not impossible to go without, and which features would not be very helpful to ensure that the cost is kept as low as possible.
We will always try our best to find the best treatment for every patient, while also keeping in mind what is most cost-effective.
